Thank you for these lovely recommendations, I'm wondering if you know of any collage groups/opportunities in Berlin?

Hi Sonya, I found this: https://www.instagram.com/berlincollageclub/ but I have not attended any of their events. So I’m not sure, but if you try, please let me know 🥰 Thank you for taking the time to read! I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday.

Beautiful new format for the post, Tugba 🩷 It reads like a letter. Did you change the font?

Thank you so much for reading, my friend. I may have changed it haha I don’t actually remember. I was playing around with the Brand section under settings.

Lovely varied recommendations Tugba - I am especially interested in the article about the 90-year-old perspective and lessons from perfect days. Although also - handbook for humanity - what a fantastic title.

Aww, thank you for taking the time to read and comment, Catriona. I hyperlinked the handbook for humanity, as I found the PDF online. If you want to, flick through it. I love the title, too.

Love the collaging! I might start a sketchbook like that one! Thank you x

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, Kate! I want to start a sketchbook just for collage, too. I have so many blank sketchbooks at home, and it would be nice to dedicate one just for collage. Also, these 15-minute sessions are so easy to do. I will sit down again at the weekend to play a bit. I love that Janice creates one every day 🤣 I always wanted to do a 365-day project, but eventually, I always give up. Have you ever attempted it?

No I haven’t, mainly because I always end up putting so much time into each piece, finding the right bit of magazine or whatever to add to the collage! But I like the idea of it being so frequent that I lose that idea that it has to be ‘the right bit’ and to just go with what I have at the time.

I have a lovely glass sand timer which times 30 minutes - I like the idea of using that every day so I can do some sketchbook work. Maybe we should be sketchbook accountability buddies! xx

I've been using my phone to time myself, but I’m considering buying an old-school sand timer instead. I think I'll get one that runs for 30 minutes or less. I believe the School of Life has one for 15 minutes.

I highly recommend using a timer because it makes tasks feel less psychologically demanding. It's hard to explain, but even though I love doing creative work, sometimes I hesitate to start if I know it will take a long time. Using a timer helps me ease into things. Even writing!

Aww, I’m glad you could find her through me. I love her work so much. I wish she would start blogging on Substack, as I don’t use Instagram that much anymore, maybe once a week or so. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, Kathryn 🖤 Happy Weekend!

I don’t use Instagram much either. If you like collage and don’t already follow @Paris Collage Collective here, highly recommend.

Thank you so much for sharing! I did not know… I will check it out. I love collage, too, and I will sit down again in the next few days to work on some more mini pieces. The mini pieces feel so easy, although someone shared underneath my video note a picture of a huge collage they did. Beautiful.

I’ve just read your friend’s UPF experiment 😕 I’ve read Chris V-T’s book - fascinating and frightening at the same time!

I know! My boyfriend read it, too and he said the same. I’m looking forward to delve more into the topic. However, as the experiment showed, it is tough these days to avoid UPFs. Have you made some changes? Thank you for taking the time to read and comment, Naomi 🖤 Happy Weekend.

Not as many as I’d like, I’m ashamed to say. I could write a whole piece on this. I have a poor relationship with food, so making changes is something I struggle with. Like you say, it is hard to avoid.

Have a good weekend 🖤

Sorry, Naomi. I'm just catching up with older comments now. No need to be ashamed. It's the hardest thing these days to have a healthy relationship with anything, be it food, media, or even relationships. As much as I love the internet, it also spreads so much toxicity that it's hard to have a healthy relationship with anything. Just look at the supermarkets. They aren't making it easy for us, even the more expensive ones.
