I watched a documentary about artists' lives a while back, and it featured many artists who started their careers later in life. It's amazing that you were able to make the switch. I realize now that all these “real things” aren’t as real as we often think haha Of course, we still need money to live, but to suggest that our job is the only “real” thing is wrong.
